Beautiful yellow dragonfly, picture taken in a desert-like area in northern Spain. The insect is sitting on the edge of a dry plant. The monochrome sand-colored background is formed by the natural sandy environment.
A dragonfly is a winged insect belonging to the order Odonata, the suborder Epiprocta or, in the strict sense, the infraorder Anisoptera. It is characterized by large multifaceted eyes, two pairs of strong transparent wings, and an elongated body.
